12/05/2013 J2J Assistance
The J2J Committee need a little extra help.
We are looking for somebody to help monitor the J2J mailbox. To do this, you'll need to have a couple of hours (maybe up to 3) spread out over the week, where you are able to monitor & respond or forward emails to the appropriate person. I'll give you some training & you will have the opportunity to learn our event management system.
If you think you have the time, please let me know and we'll get you started asap.
Many thanks
Kate Jackson

14/04/2013 ‘City to Surf’
SUN-HERALD CITY2SURF
Date: Sunday 11th August 2013
To all of our New Members, this is the year we do City2Surf in Sydney, it has been our Club alternate year run for many years.
Each year we usually have a large contingent head south for this event and I put together their Accommodation and organise an activity on one of our days.
Typically previous years itineraries are as follows:
Ø Depart Brisbane, majority on Friday and return on Monday.
Ø Some depart Saturday and return on Sunday after race or Monday with the rest of us.
Ø On the Saturday, we try to organise something, on our last trip it was a lunch cruise on the harbour.
Ø Monday morning as a club we run over the bridge (coat hanger), nice & early followed by breakfast, check out, and catch our return flight home.
This year we could be reduced in numbers as some are heading overseas on holidays or cycling around Vietnam, and the travel dollar will only stretch so far.
Our Accommodation in past years has been at the City Park Regis, as this is right next to the start line and we don’t have to stand around lining up for ever, freezing!
This property is opposite Hyde Park, next door to the Coffee Club (to make us feel at home) and a brisk 7min walk to Circular Quay, great location.
I am happy to make any bookings at this property for those who may be interested.
TIP - Everyone usually hops on line and when they see a Virgin Sale, and book their flights.
Virgin and Qantas have lots of sales, just keep an eye out.
It looks like the organisers are aiming for 85,000 this year.
What I would like for MBRR is to get an estimate on who is interested in participating in this event – accommodation can be very hard to find...
I look forward to everyone’s feedback – just an indication at this point in time and it’s not a firm commitment, thank you.
Kind Regards,
Sharron Sharpe

13/02/2013 MBRR kids...
Calling all MBRR kids... There is a Queensland cross country competition starting March 2nd that happens every
Saturday afternoon at 2pm at various parks around North Brisbane. Distances range from 500m to 8kms and
you can sign up on the day for as little or as many races as you want.
Registration is only $12 for the season and then $3 each Saturday you compete. Parents are also welcome
as there is no age limit. It’s a great way to introduce your children into the world of running.
If you have any questions please contact Christy at Christy@tdhphoto.com or 0432360578.
